While vaccines are important, the most important part or your pet’s healthcare is the yearly exam. Our pets age faster than we do and small problems can become big problems quickly. At the yearly exam we can identify any concerns and make plans to correct them if needed. It is important to evaluate all body systems at least yearly for most pets and bi-annually for our geriatric patients. This will help keep them healthy and around for a long time.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm disease can transferred from an infected mosquito to your pet. If your pet is not on preventative medication, it may be a good idea to get tested.  We offer in an house blood test to check for heartworm. It takes 10 minutes for results and if tested negative, your pet can start prevention. We require yearly heartworm tests if your pet is on heartworm prevention, because although not common, it is still possible for your pet to get the disease while on the preventative.
